The Beacon Foundation is a not-for-profit, organisation committed to youth unemployment. The Foundation operates a range of different programmes, including the 'No Dole' programme in high schools across Australia.

After hearing The Beacon Foundation Chairman, Mr Bill Lawson, speak at a function in October 2000, Carlon Leong Director, Tony Carlon became enrolled in building a vision of full employment for the youth of Australia. "We donate a set number of hours each month to working on projects for The Beacon Foundation," said Tony Carlon. "Our own agency vision is to give something back to the community and donating our time to Foundation projects is a great way to make a difference."

To date, Carlon Leong has mainly helped with the creation of a corporate style guide, brand management, annual reports, corporate profile and function invitations. However, the agency was also instrumental in developing and launching a new Web site for the Foundation.

"Importantly, the new Web site has been built on a platform that will allow the contents to be easily updated in-house by Beacon Foundation staff," said Tony Carlon. "We worked closely with Brisbane-based internet company, i Reckon, to develop the Web site. Importantly the Web site is also used by stakeholders and "Friends Of Beacon" to distribute information and assist with project management."

"Our work with The Beacon Foundation is a tremendous way for everyone in the agency to be involved and contribute something towards the community," added Tony Carlon. "And now that the 'No Dole' programme is gaining more awareness and becoming more successful our satisfaction is also growing."
